Interactive Slope

Quito, Equador

Allow an end-user to set a slope threshold, such as 20 degrees, and recolor the map to show all regions with a slope greater than 20 degrees.

Terrain Tiles

The slope of the land matters for planning a bike ride to building a road. The slope layer allows you to show slope to your end user on any map, and any scale from global down to the vicinity of a house.

This example shows the region around Quito, Equador. The end-user can set a slope threshold and recolor the map. For example, by zooming in and setting the slope to 10 degrees, one can see the scattered flat regions in Quito as uncolored areas.

If the user zooms out and sets the slope to 45 degrees, the mountain ranges to the East and West of Quito are displayed.
